Everything the price includes

Painting a wall takes six layers. You see the top two; your price covers all of them. Here is what we do in each layer and which materials we use, from top to bottom.

The wall in cross-section, top to bottom

  1. 2nd coat

    The final coat, the colour you see. Rolled in one direction and finished corner to corner, with no visible joins.

    Washable matt, water-based interior paint

  2. 1st coat

    The coat that sets the colour. We never start the second coat before it is dry; at least four hours between coats.

    The same paint, thinned with 10% water

  3. Primer

    Helps the paint grip the wall and the colour look the same everywhere. Filled areas painted without primer shine through like stains.

  4. Sanding and dusting

    Filled surfaces are smoothed, the whole wall is lightly sanded and the dust is wiped off with a damp cloth.

  5. Repairs

    Nail holes, hairline cracks and chipped corners are filled with plaster and filler. Large cracks and damp are not part of this line; we look at them separately at the visit.

  6. Your wall

    Plaster, old paint, moisture. We don’t fix the price without looking at it; we measure at the visit and add a separate line if needed.

Not on the wall, but in the price

  • Protection

    Furniture is moved to the middle of the room and covered, floors are papered; frames, sockets and skirting boards are taped. Everything goes back in place when we finish.

  • Basic clean on the last day

    Tape comes off, paint marks are removed, floors are swept and mopped. You can use the home the same evening.

Never in any quote

  • Bathroom and kitchen tiles: we don’t paint them.
  • Exterior walls and balcony ceilings: a separate job for a separate crew.
  • Renovation, plumbing and electrics: we don’t do them, but we can recommend tradespeople we trust.
